really good day and turnout ,bit windy though ,but can i say on behalf of the people who wont say it ,this was not"pan flat"as promised ......... well done to all who were there and made it round
Did some/anyone say "pan flat" ? If so, I would have
remonstrated discussed it
with them; I have done this ride about 5 times now and I know that it is definitely not 'pan flat'. It is, as stated in the very first post:
-
Terrain: mostly flat, some lumps, no real hills; cycle paths and quiet roads; excellent for new people, beginners; great for more experienced
In CC Ecosse Forum ride terms - it is exactly that.
Part of the 'fun'/purpose of the CC Ecosse Forum rides is to encourage people to ride a bit further and a bit 'lumpier' than they may have done before - with the support and encouragement from the more experienced riders in the group. Personally, I felt this was well achieved today - with the Belles, in particular (of whom very few were CC folk), perhaps surprising themselves with how far and how lumpy they could ride.
Amazing what the thought/scent/taste of CAKE
can do !
[This was ably demonstrated by many of the said Belles (along with a few other
miscreants uber-keen folk), post-cake
, charging ahead and missing the turn soon after we crossed the A85 ....
, after their great efforts up to Chapelhill and on the 'Abbreviated Route'
.]
To those who "won't say it" - I say
chapeau ! - you went further and lumpier than you thought you would and perhaps could !
