Well he was given little chance in 2016, completely written off in 2021, no team at the end of 2020, and he ended up in green. Comeback kid, ye of little faith etc etc.

But it really is a bit of a stretch this time. Still, never say never.

If only WVA hadn't messed the story up on the Champs Elysees in '21...

Nearly did it in Bordeaux last year.... Jasper the disaster got in his way though !
He only needs a bit of luck....such as peloton going down in the run in 🙄
Seriously why not,he's got the hunger for it and it's great publicity for the Tour and Astana.Might even get me to watch a sprint stage....well the last few k anyway.

Absolutely he was very close last year, could well have won a stage he'd made the other 14 stages. He almost certainly wont be the faster sprinter with the best lead-out train, but he could well nick a stage

Too many Eeyores on this thread. Suspect they are people who never try to do difficult things. Better to talk yourself down, then do OK - how British!

Just let him have a go, and cheer him on (or not, you're free to cheer someone else on if you prefer). If he doesn't get it, so what? Always good to see someone try, it's not like he's forcing his team to take him to the Tour ...

Lots of favourite moments, all the victories of course. The crashing 2014 TdF in Yorkshire was very Cav, as was the the two fingered salute in 2010!
