Sounds like some of the things I used to tell my classes when I was a teacher
TBF I did normally stop then a few minutes later and ask them if - and why - anyone believed me when it was clearly wrong
I claim I did it to encourage critical thinking - but basically it was just funny!!
(didn't do it often and only with older classes - if we ignore the Pigeon Hold incident)
