When I used to pick my daughter up from nursery I would always get a little sheet of paper telling me the holy trinity of essential information.
What she had eaten, how many nappy changes and if she had slept.
We didn;t get that - but there was a menu of what they had for lunch on a blackboard as you entered the building to pick them up
I used to get my daughter to open her mouth and I looked in and checked what she had had by looking into her stomach
She had been in Primary School for a couple of years before she realised that I had been looking at the menu every time I picked her up and was making it all up which was why I could no longer do it - rather than the tale I told about her being older and somethingsomethingsomething
I think that was the point where she realised that she had to think about what I said and if it made no sense then I might just be talking b****x
The older grandkids have learned that lesson - just the youngest to go!!
