Ties were thought designed to cover the buttons of a shirt so it depends on where the shirt starts from. It is also suggested to be a phallic symbol in shape and pointing towards the genitals to show power in which case neither is correct.

Well - to be accurate then it depends how close the creature is to the bowl.
As he/she has such a long neck then they could be some distance from the table , in which case #1 would be the one to catch in the soup

and anyway - how would they hold the spoon??

a problem that is not made any better with the 2 legged versions like T-Rex
