One thing I notice about the cartoon, is how accurately drawn the various pieces of kit are. The cartoonist is clearly having a dig at himself here

I agree. Cool looking open amplifier with transistors, but the plate on the record player looks kinda THICK. I had one of those double cassette decks to back in the day. Great cartoon.
