Born in 1968 so this was the era when I were a lad, and the cars that I liked, and still do, are -

Capri - always going to be my number one
Rover P6
Rover SD1 - still a handsome looking car today
Triumph TR7
Fiat X1.9
Datsun 240Z
MK2 Granada

I know some of them might have fallen apart before you'd even run them in but I still like the look of them. 😊

I too am a child of '68...

Plymouth Roadrunnuer Superbird.

Pre Peter-Stevens redesign Lotus Esprit.

Volvo 780 (there was such a thing, Google it.)

Original LP400 Countach before it sprouted silly arch spats and spoilers.

Chevette HS/HSR.

Original Citroen CX.

Mk1 Cavalier Sport Hatch.

VW T3.

Audi 200 5T.

Forgot about the Esprit, the one from The Spy Who Loved Me.

I was going to include the original Countach as well but thought I'd stick with the more mundane.

I know people go for the fast one, but I'd happily settle for a GT. Luvly!

My Grandpappy was works manager for Lancia in the 60s an 70s, he gets several mentions in the book of the marques history. Fond memories of him bringing home Flaminias, Flavias, Fulvias and a Stratos. One of my earlier motoring memories was being pasenger in a works prepped competition Fulvia being driven into the Blackwall Tunnl and the sound of the exhaust blaring back as us.

Born in 58 so cars of the 70s were of immediate interest as I started driving. So many to choose from..
60s/70s
Ford Corsair (despite never being a Ford lover)
Ford Consul Capri
Ford Cortina Mk 1
Vauxhall something Variomatic. This would I guess be a late 60s early 70s car, bigger than a Viva friend had one and the lines were fabulous, I suspect it was high spec when new.
Vauxhall Cresta / Velox
Vauxhall Victors
Jaguar XJs
Bristol (don't know the models but instantly recognisable)
Scimitar GTEs
Always had a soft spot for Simca 1100s ? I think Renault did a very similar bodystyle.
80s and beyond..
Lancia Delta
Citroën BX particually the higher spec ones
There are so many need to refresh my memory...

My dad, stepdad and uncle were all petrol heads and seemed to be in competition with each other to own the most interesting cars of the era. My Stepfather was the easily worst offender. At one point, in addition to two (South African) Cortina pick-ups, a Cortina Mk3 L, a Cortina Mk3 GXL, a Ford (of Germany) Taurus, a Triumph 2000 TC estate, a SWB Landrover, a type one Transit van and a Vauxhall Victor we also owned these beauties:

You've just reminded me that my mum's second husband had one of those when she first met him.
