Potentially buying a pair of (bare/unlaced) rims from a local-ish chap later. It's about 9 miles away on rural roads so potentially a good opportunity for a ride.. but I'm a bit stuck as to how to carry them. I'd be on the Fuji so would have rear rack and bags (although they obviously won't fit on the latter).

I'll also have a small rucksack, but I don't think I could realistically lash them to that. I did wonder about hanging them over my shoulder like a messenger bag, but suspect this might get a bit tired over the length of the ride.

I'm sure there's a way, but I'm struggling to get my head around how they'd fit anywhere given their shape.. any thoughts much appreciated

Zip tie them to each other and make a sling out of rope so you can put on your back with the rope over your head and on one shoulder

I've got some, but forget the name!

Ta - have done similar with other things for short journeys on the Brompton; not sure I have the gear or resolve do do that comfortably for nine miles however..

Have carried wheels and tyres on top of the rack before. Need long bungees.
Sounds like a feat! Sadly I don't have any suitable bungees here.

Take the car
That's not really getting into the spirit of the forum, is it!?

Tape to seat stays and then to each other past the rear wheel?
I did consider trying something similar with cable ties, but am a bit reluctant incase all the vibration causes any damage to anything..

Put some foam pipe lagging round the stays..

I could; although not sure I have any and these will still abrade the paint if there's any contam on it (which of course there is as I've not cleaned it for ages). Would prefer to keep it all isolated to the rack of possible..

Can't you just wear them like the cross-strap of a Sam Browne belt, just like you'd carry a bow-saw, or a bow for that matter
