The Nuneaton store I use has excellent lads they built my boardman without fault and when a spoke came loose they fixed and trued it in 10 mins no hassle.

I also bought a eBay nearly new kraken ( more as a hack follow my daughter trip to the shops bike but I have discovered the fun of the muddy stuff  ) that is excellent good frame forks etc solid and dependable off road quick on road I can't really fault the bikes or my local store.

I've got a Carrera 'Vanquish' and I'm very happy with it. No regrets whatsoever.
The initial setup was a bit iffy but It was just adjustment issues, easily rectified.
I love it.^_^
Oh, I changed the 'white?' bar tape for black Deda carbon look tape. Looks nice. and I put on a different cassette that suits me better.

I got this one from Middlesbrough and the reason I didn't let them build it is because the lad I go riding with purchased a carerra subway for work a year ago and didn't make it very far before the REAR wheel fell off.
As this is a bike for my young boy I decided to build it myself.

I've got a Carrera Vanquish and a Kraken both great quality for the price and after initial set up have been no problem for last 2 years.

they do seem to keep lowering the spec though and have recently stopped putting the specs on the web site.

JKility I got a bike for my son today and bought it boxed built it up and the wheel may as well be square its that un true.
That's carerra quality right there.
This can happen with anything, never had a bad day at the office.;)
On a plus (though never bought a bike from them) Pontefract stores seems pretty good and have always given excellent service including a gatorskin 700x23c for the same price as an Ultra sport I had prebooked on line but had just fitted it to a bike and it being the last it stock, supplied the afore mentioned gatorskin.

Guy at work has got a Carrera. Not sure which model but it's got front suspension.

He's got through a few spokes over the year or so that he's owned it, but he is a very... I mean VERY... big bloke and it could just be down to his weight.

Or the wheels, I got through about 8 rear spokes on my Viking from June 2012 to April 2013, I got a pair of RS10's and never had a problem (touch wood), I know different types of bikes but same applies.

can't get my trousers past my huge thighs!!
I bought a carrera tdf road bike from halfords two years ago, and I think its fantastic, never had any major problems with it, and used it daily for my commute.
I wish the new, three times the price, bike I have just bought was as trouble free!
I'll be back on my carrera for the rest of the week while my new bike is repaired

glad to hear some positives about carrera! thought i wasted my cash on a crap bike! sorry to hear ur new bike of the road man that sucks!

I don't think it's so much the Carreras as problems with Halfords setting them up poorly. I am pretty sure I have read numerous excellent reviews on the Kraken.

i dont use halfords purely cos of the reputation....use speed and custom on paisley rd west a little independent shop thats really good!
