Been looking at new wheelsets and rreally like the look of the Fulcrum 0's. My question is would they be a good purchase or would I be better off buying some carbon clinchers around the same price range?

I'm more of a high speed cruiser than an out and out sprinter - I just want something that'll roll well but that isn't too harsh a ride.

I wouldn't bother with carbon clinchers personally, but there are good carbon tubulars to be had in that price range.

I've not had any experience of tubulars - so I'm wary. For instance - how easy is it to fix a puncture at the side of the road? I can fix a clincher puncture in 5 mins Just wouldn't want to get stranded anywhere with a tyre I couldn't repair.

Depends on the size of the hole. Thus far, I have always been able to fix with sealant (5 minute job) but obviously you can carry a spare tub as well. Changing a tub is not that long a job either, and probably quicker than fiddling with some bulletproof M+ type monster.

Biggest I've had is a nail through the tread - but it's usually glass shards. Didn't realise repairing tubs was that easy - will go and do some research.

Looking at some Enve SES 3.4 Clinchers with Chris King hubs.

I think that they will be slightly more befitting the rest of my bike.
nice looking wheels matty - i just got zipp 202's, lovely and smooth to ride on

I was toying between plastic or Plastic but decided for the Plastic in the end.

Just got to hope I get some in plenty of time before the good bike gets rested during the mucky winter period.

Why people choose carbon clinchers for anything is a mystery to me, tbh. There is a small (and I mean 'tiny') aero benefit for deep sections in general, but ironically most clincher deep sections are so heavy that the weight penalty probably outweighs the aero advantage on anything other than a completely flat road.

What about lateral stiffness of a good carbon clincher such as a Zipp firecrest, do you not think this is a consideration?
