At this point it seems more appropriate to feed the glorious arrangement of mosses and lichens that have taken hold over the past few years than it does to try and clean owt up... as OCD as I was about keeping past cars sparkling (when facilities allowed)..

We've got a lot of moss, and a few years ago found a wonderful tiny wasps nest too.

Once a Wheeler

…always a wheeler
I spent years using washing up liquid and never had a problem. Nowadays I use Meguires shampoo. Car ends up clean either way. Have had some kind of paint protection for years so not polished a car since about 1989

(Hides)

Years ago I found myself in the middle of a conversation between professional car washers. Several of them independently volunteered that the best possible car-washing product was Express Dairy Liquid — the bog standard dish-washing liquid available for very little money at the local Express Dairy. It apparently cleaned well and left a lasting sheen which customers often remarked upon favourably. Since Express Dairy disappeared around 2000 I suppose the same product is now available under some other trade mark — a fair reward for anyone prepared to hunt it down. Although of course it may be that that lasting sheen, so delightful for cars, has some ghastly environmental effect on diners: proceed with caution.

I have a bagful, that my father gave me

I do, however, probably need something a bit better for the alloys (l clean those, to try & prevent brake-dust corrosion), so might try some ‘Car Plan Demon Wheels’, as l need to nip to the local B&M for some 2032 batteries

This is the best wheel, at the moment (possibly last cleaned in November?)

Autoglym Super Resin a couple of weeks ago. Extra Gloss Protection yesterday, and the spray on ceramic today. Eat your dinner off it (well you won't as I won't let it get dirty).
