Hi,

I am looking for a new bike and I am stuck with Canyon Endurance Al 7.0 and Cinelli Saetta Radical Plus (Carbon).
I am more looking for comfort rather than speed. Canyon has better groupset (Ultegra) than Cinelli (105) .
Canyon seems like great package I think not a single thing need changing.
Cinelli, I like frame and fact it is Itallian (bit silly I know) but few things need changing. Cassette is 11-25 - too racy need to be changed straight away, drivetrain is Miche – that needs to be replaced later on, probably wheels need to be updated later on, possibly stem as well (I read they come long on Italian bikes).

on the paper it looks like Canyon wins but some magic force somehow push me into Cinelli…

I would appreciate any comments.

Many thanks,
Seb

Canyon for me, you can specify the finishing kit and they look lovely

The Cinelli frame is not Italian made and the Canyon frame is not German made. Both are far eastern products. Nothing wrong with that, but don't be labouring under the impression that there is some kind of 'Italian' connection other than the name.

Which rides the best when you're on them? You have little hope of selecting the optimum ride for you on the basis of brochures, spec lists, or the recommendation of others.

In this day and age you're unlikely to buy a pup - although it can happen - but it's quite easy to end up with something south of perfect.

He doesn't mention having tried them out, and unless he has a mate with a Canyon, it's unlikely he has as there aren't any uk showrooms afaik

As above , you need to try them.

I have a Cinelli Saetta 2014 model, with Campag gearing Miche every thing else,

Imho it's a great bike, great for all day long riding, since ownership I've not changed anything, the seat is comfortable and the wheels are great.
Would I recommend it, for all my needs, yes I would.

Sounding daft but does either take mudguards, as that would drive my decision making

Only if want to fit Crud roadracer's.

But if you want to fit proper mudguards, then these two bikes are not the ones for you, look for bikes with eyelets.
