On a whim I purchased a CAAD 10 Disc frameset from Evans around the start of the year purely because it was on offer at around £370 at the time which was 50% off the rrp (due to the release of the newer CAAD 12 which going by all of the reviews is meant to be lighter, stiffer and all round better than the 10).
I'd already got a Synapse Disc Di2 on order for delivery in March so I was in no hurry to build up the CAAD 10 and intended on using it as my commuter. I eventually got around to building it up at the end of May and I can honestly say that it's an absolutely phenomenal bike. You wouldn't know it was an aluminium frame, it's light, stiff and very comfy and quick. So much so that I prefer it to the Synapse. I did a century ride last Sunday and it was as comfy as any of my other bikes. I've also gained a lot of PRs and one or two KOMs on Strava on this bike.
I'm using the BB30 bottom bracket with an adapter to allow me to use a Shimano Ultegra crankset and I've not had any problems. I did however, have lots of issues with the Synapse out of the box in comparison. I've since realised that this is because Cannondale assemble their bikes with very little grease (if any at all) so it's no wonder that people experience creaking early on. I stripped my Synapse's headset, bottom bracket, bars, stem and seatpost and fully greased everything and haven't had any problems since.
Based on my experience of the CAAD 10 I would wholeheartedly recommend a CAAD 12 to anyone.
