Can any of you say this is worth the money?

As I paid £1500 for a Italian tailored suit in 1988 aged 18 :smooch:and loved it, though my parents called me 'crazy'

This looks like a fair price in comparison even though its just a race cape

Im a sucker for Italian clothing, would buy if I had the money and it was what I was looking for

if your serious about cycling,of course it's worth the money.innovations, technology and performance and overall construction quality would reflect this if you were to purchase it and use it .it's a performance garment and you would definitely feel the benefits out on the road.

Calm down - this is a plastic bag with sleeves and a zip we're talking about...

In between here and there
The Castelli Gabba stuff is supposed be really cracking gear, in one the San Remo races when it was snowing even non sponsored riders were using them but had de-logoed them.

Buy what you want is my moto. I spent £160 on jacket 4 years ago and I am only going to replace it this year as my daughter buggered it living in it for a weekend on a very wet DoE exercise.

Commuting is meant to save me £90 in fuel alone every 8 commute by bike days, gives me plenty of excuses to spend dosh on cycling shoot, plus the cardio, plus the endorphins, plus my mood is better and the best of that consumer buzz when I but the cycling shoot!

People are happy to pay a premium so they don't have to shop in places like aldi!

Since when did aldi become the benchmark that everything is compared to?

Ever since they started knocking out half-decent gear at a fraction of the price of Castelli and Assos. That's when...

Some of it is still shite though - but Aldi bin bags are every bit as functional and effective as Castelli bin bags. At the end of the day, you still get a bin bag.

Whether its a car or house or cycling jacket it's usually all as functional as the other regardless of price. But if you can afford to spend more money, and you like the design or whatever reason you have, what does it matter?

It seems to me the biggest snobs are those who shop in the likes of lidl and aldi and label people 'mugs' because they like buying more expensive things.

Personally, I think people who don't know the difference between items or state that every item of the same kind is by default only as good as every other item of that kind, despite never seeing or using either them, are actually the mugs!

No it doesn't matter. It's the old 'Vauxhall v Mercedes' argument in another guise. There is no right answer.

£290 for a pack away jacket!
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/castelli-tempesta-race-jacket/ It's " packable, aero, waterproof, windproof and highly breathable",but i paid £30 for a jacket that does exactly the same,

Same could be said here for a pair of bib shorts, they'll not even be waterproof or windproof (probably best not for round the butt area) and they are on special offer...reduced from £309.99.............:scratch:no wonder they have got plenty left in all sizes.....
