Can any of you say this is worth the money?

It is worth whatever some mug or money no object rider will pay for it. I'll stick to my £5 aldi one I think though.

Some people are happy with cheap and cheerful, Aldi & Lidl etc
Other people are happy to pay premium.

Edit: I actually really like the Castelli jacket that the OP linked to.
In fact if it was black, I might be tempted.

To answer the question, I don't think it's worth the money .
If I bought one (which I wouldn't) I would probably fall off my bike first time I wore it and shred it .
Nice looking jacket though.

I have a very nice, expensive cycling jacket. A lovely item, worth every penny imo. On the second ride out I slipped on some frost.... made a hole in the elbow.

if your serious about cycling,of course it's worth the money.innovations,technology and performance and overall construction quality would reflect this if you were to purchase it and use it .it's a performance garment and you would definitely feel the benefits out on the road.
i don't cycle enough to warrant buying one though, but if you do,yeah it's worth it

I love my Altura soft shell we all got a year or two ago for £40 from Leckies in Falkirk, but no way was it worth £130.

I have a few Rapha jackets, if I crash and it rips Rapha will repair it for free. I can't see many of the cheaper brands doing that

It all depends how much £290 is worth to you.

And, of course, whether it is any good. If it is indeed really top notch quality, and a good fit, and you like the look/style, and you have £290 to spare then go ahead.

I have a Goretex jacket, and also some cheap boil-in-the-bag jackets. The Goretex jacket was a prezzie, so I don't know how much it cost but it was certainly worth paying a fair wedge for compared with cheapos.
