I actually can't watch anymore of these. I think it is actually making me an angry cyclist. I want to be a happy, forgiving cyclist.

When I was hit and run, it was the drivers that stopped to help; who had seen my assailants driving leading up to it; that were more angry than me & me dissuading them from tearing off into the housing estate he disappeared into after him. Shock of being hit to a degree but I think drivers who witness such dangerous driving recognise ignorant dangerous bumholes just as well as cyclists do.

I can't help wondering if the driver of the Astra happened to be black or Asian; London cabbies are not known for their racial tolerance and I'd imagine any hatred of cyclists would be temporarily sidelined if some London cabbies saw a white cyclist (and a woman at that) knocked off by someone they hated even more. Just sayin' like.

Does anybody know what was the outcome? Was the driver charged with failing to stop?

Dunno.I asked the bloke on twitter how the cyclist was and he said he didn't know, but in the description it says she was "seriously injured".

I think that's pretty unfair. That cabbie seems to have done a good deed on all our behalf**. There is nothing in his action or the video to suggest racism. Do we really need to impugn his motives?

(someone once did the same for me. My car was hit by a car running a red light, and she kept going. Another driver pursued her, got her number and told her to came to the police station. She then came to the police station to report the crime, and the guilty driver arrived a few minutes later)

**edit: the cabbie has done something on society's behalf, just to be clear.

It's all good the taxi driver chasing the Astra, but surely attending to the "seriously injured" cyclist would have been more productive.

The Glue that binds us together.
I did the same thing a few years back, i was driving through palmers green when a guy hit a school kid and drove of, i chased him down and stopped him, My mate got into his car and drove back to the scene of the accident, I followed them back, when i got out the car some idiot accused me of hitting the kid, It's just as well there where more witnesses who soon put him right. There are some right a*****s around.

I have reservations. Of course, I applaud someone coming to the cyclist's support. But I have strong reservations about condoning any motorist, taxis perhaps especially given their reputation even under normal conditions, seeing themselves as vigilantes and using their vehicle as a tool to that end.

Still no reports of any seriously injured rider.
