So I am getting a new bike this weekend but wanted to know what I should expect..
Will I get new pedals do I pay for them, do you get any free gifts?
Can I change bits on the bike like saddle or handle bars etc..

Cheers.

Depends on the retailer, try asking, they can only say no.Good luck.

^this, it VERY much depends on the retailer, some are a lot more flexible than others, but it also depends on the bike manufacturer too.

It sounds like the deal is already done, so you will be on the back foot when it comes to trying to negotiate anything else out of the retailer, but at the very least I'd hope they would give you a decent discount on some reasonable pedals.

Most bikes these days don't come with 'pedals', although that said you will usually get a pair of cheap and nasty flats included so you can at least ride it straight away, but most folk know what pedals they like and fit their own straight away IMO.

Depends on the shop, chains are less good typically I'd say. If you are paying full RRP, I'd at least ask for a bottle cage, discount off lights, muduards.

If you want decent pedals, you'll have to pay for them, perhaps they'll knock a few quid off. Remember, the bigger chains like Evans and Cyclesurgery have a price match promise, so check who they match and print off the details if an online retailer like Wiggle has cheaper.

They should at least fit any accessories for you for free at a minimum.

I'm going to evanscycles and they have put 3 bikes by so I can have a test ride etc.. I did pay a £ 50 deposit to hold the bikes but I'm not obligated to buy and should I not like any of them I get my money back but if I dont turn up they keep the £50..
So I might have a bit of room to haggle..

They a running a part ex deal at the moment not that generous @ £100 but not bad if you have a rusty old bike somewhere.

I got the following thrown in with my new bike without having to ask;
Saddle bag
Tyre levers
Spare tube
Chain lube

It also came with some Look Keo Max Carbon pedals, but they were part of the bike spec.

One of the bikes I'm looking at is a Cannondale Bad Boy 2 and I think that comes with pedals for that bike, not sure on the Specialized though.

Only seen photos of the Cannondale Bad Boy 2 and the Specilalized Comp, not seen them in real life yet.. really looking forward to seeing them in the flesh.
Plus I can look at other bikes in the showroom as a back up.
PS.. evanscycles have been very helpfull so far.
