Should be a frame number on it, under the BB or running vertically on the seat tube under the seat bolt
Give it some TLC and restore it to its former glory, the dark nights will soon be with us and it'll pass the time whilst you wait for the return of summer.
By then Raleigh were in charge and the frame number should give you the date of manufacture which you enquired about

Lots of manufacturers date stamp their kit, as people know I'm a fan of early Dura Ace and Shimano very kindly date stamped their kit so I know when it was made....

lol I bet you'd never have noticed if you'd just ridden it!Curiouser and curiouser ! the Shimano crankset is FC6400....no problem there. the chainring side is marked 170mm NG (1989 July)
the opposite crank is marked 172.5mm OA (1990 January) Now what do l do ?
