Sounds like they've been no more than fair, actually:

1. Sale of Goods Act has been superseded do it would've been pointless trying to claim against that.

2. Consumer Rights Act would entitle you to claim defect or fault and ask for a fix or refund or replacement, which they have offered knowing they would have to do so.

3. A lot of places wouldn't offer such by default, they would try it on and then fold if challenged. This makes those places dishonest but it doesn't make Decathlon amazing, they're just doing what they know they've got to do.

Not many shops would offer this option, seems they are trying to make it as hassle free as possible for the op..

Had it looked at this morning, paid £40

Gear cable replacement
Derailleur replacement
Retension of rear wheel
Truing of Rear Wheel

I have an invoice which I am now going to submit to Decathlon, meanwhile I'm all up and running!
