Hope you and the bike soon mend fella, be interesting to hear if anything happens regarding you reporting the incident.

 Glad you're okay though.

Someone may be able to tell you if its just a broken hanger or if its the bike from some pics of where the gear changer meets the frame

As MrJamie suggested can you upload a couple of photos of the gear changer, both from the side and from the rear. Which make and model bike do you have?

I'm sorry to hear about this, but glad you've come out of it with only minor hurt. The new bike I take it?

Hopefully it will just be the derailleur hanger that needs replacing. These are designed to bend or break to avoid damage to the frame and the derailleur mechanism.

Glad to hear you're ok. As a professional LGV driver, with due regard to vulnerable road users, I find myself increasingly disenchanted with the dangerous cowboys that somehow get a PCV licence. You are not alone in being put in harm's way by them!

Same applies to LGV, I used to drive LGV's so I understand what you mean.

stagecoach say the video wasnt working on bus and driver does not remember overtaking the flourescent yellow cyclist so his word v mine police cant do anything as i havent got a VRN. however the inspector bloke did say they would put out a general notice about giving cyclists room,
the bike was just a new hanger and a spoke replaced by LBS costing me grand total of £18
