take the tyre and tube and rim tape off and remove one spoke. nip to the local bike shop buy two or three replacements for 80pence each and dive in using a youtube video. youll be surprised how easy it is to do.
80p each assumes a normal spoke. Low spoke count Shinano wheels typically use bladed spokes that have an RRP of around £3 each.

My spoke repair ended up costing £24 at the LBS. For me I think I'd rather pay that than attempt this by myself but I am a poor mechanic. Early days I know but have had no issues since the repair, the man in the shop blamed the broken spoke on the poor road surfaces in Herts.

Poor road surfaces will be a recurring problem, said the 6'4" 20 stone guy.(although I haven't had to replace spokes in a donkey's years, until last week, but I got the wheel that way).Road maintenance would be a good place to start, and infrastructure in general, on both sides the pond. A good idea to have someone replace it, if you feel like it's not a job you'd like to do yourself.
