Welcome. Don't be surprised if you end up giving up running and just cycle ;-)

I'd suggest not upgrading anything until you've rode around a bit and worn bits out – that way you'll have a better idea of what you want and need.



I am just completing this phase myself, got my first bike over 2 months ago.
Bought a used classic bike first and less than a month later bought another second hand few years old bike with carbon forks, Shimano Sora group set.
Upgrades:
1. SPD-SL pedals and SPD shoes for £50 from Decathlon
1. Rear derailleur to Ultegra RD-6500 - used £15 (note to myself, need to align derailleur hanger.)
2. Just bought Dura Ace 7800 brakes - used £83


I am looking to upgrade wheels next but it's going to be a dearer upgrade, my budget is about £150, I suspect I could get better value by getting used wheels but I still lack the knowledge be sure I am getting a good deal.
I am all over ebay for a better front derailleur as well.


And I stopped running.... and swimming... for now :-)
