These are the best pads that I have ever come across a short while ago, and with being a heavy rider, no pads prior to these have ever been able to lock my wheels up if I brake too hard (not that I want it to happen) unless I have been on a loose surface or mud. The best part is the price and you also get four pads, shop around and you can find them cheaper sometimes. At the moment, they have lasted me 2500+ miles and still plenty of life left in them and after just using them for a week was that impressed I stocked my spares box up with two more sets.

Might get some of them, match my cycling cloths (sort of)

Excellent, thanks Globalti. Possibly an even dumber question......... it says in the advert you provided the link to that they are despatched in two pairs, which pretty much sounds to me like you get four pads! Is this correct? If it is then the £20 price tag doesn't sound horrific. In all honesty, I'll probably give them a shot even if they're £20 for a pair. Thanks for the advice.
If I have SRAM brakes are these the only Swissstop ones that will fit my bike?

I know this is off topic but there was an interesting point about rim brakes and material getting in and causing problems. In the past in the wet when I have ridden the MTB around the forest of Dean a lot of the mud turns to paste. I have gone through a new set of hydraulic pads in 4 hours before, the paste gets into the brakes and acts like sand paper, also grit seems gets in and can scratch the disks.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
Fitted Clarkes pads a week or so ago, and the grinding noise I'm getting from them is very worrying. Had the wheels off and cleaned/sanded pads but todays ride just as bad. They appear to be very hard. Is this usual?

+1 for the above

Excellent stopping power in all weather and last very well. got 7,500km out of the first set and current set are well over 5,000km and still going strong.
If the pads on rim brakes last longer - it probably means the rims last shorter! (Over simplified because that wouldn't allow for factors such as heat dissipation) I have been fitting dual compound XLC pads for a year or so now and everyone has been really impressed with them. Considering they're a little heard of budget brand, they are very good.
