You seem to take all sorts as all sorts of things. Shame you never seem to find the evidence eh ;)

Pissing contest over cycle hats aside, are you happy to stand corrected over the horse stuff as I'm still waiting for clarification on this post

Take it however you like, you still have read selectively (and are factually incorrect, the law is not a blanket requirement)

Im not sure what your 'track' is but im happy to allow you to consider your on tthe right one

Some believe it is not significant, hence the difference of opinion

I havnt heard this one, ill have to take your word for it

Im dont think judging the looks of a helmet only is the correct reason to base your selection of the 'significant safety equipment' (as you call it)

You are nitpicking. For some people, the acquisition of these (unnecessary) accoutrements it will not be a deterrent to cycling, for others it will. It is the latter group that we are concerned about. Creating barriers to cycling is a bad thing, is it not, whether you think any particular barrier is particularly significant?

To summarise this post, are you are saying a helmet is a barrier to cycling and people wearing them reaffirm this?
Partial as I am to the occasional bout of linfoonery, and dipping into the never-changing helmet debate from time to time, I think that all this thread is doing now is diluting the credibility of the contributors. Perhaps a large step back is in order?
This assumes that certain contributors had any credibility in the first place. And they haven't shown it.

Why not supply the source when you make these claims so we know what the hell you are on about ?

If it is opinion then whos to say it is insane ?

On a previous thread on compulsion... in response to a series of posts Redlight asked:

So you wear a full face helmet when cycling then?

The reply from David K was:

no, with the helmet being wider than my face im guessing that will take the impact if i fall

Of course an opinion and hence entitled, but is it something we should actually be recommending for BMX or Off road?

This is exactly where the "hint and run" and non-evidenced opinion becomes unacceptable.
