Can't you use the same tubes as road bike? How fat are the tyres?

My road bikes use 23 and 25 tyres. These are 28mm, only £2.50 at Halford . I like the idea of carrying two tubes for each bike.

Can you not switch between? Road tyre tubes typically run 20-28mm

Took the bike back to Halfords today as the gears were not right. No problems they said and they re-adjusted them while I waited. Seems to be ok now.
