If you don't mind meeting new people/ want to, you might want to consider things such as Couchsurfing or Hospitality Club as a way to travel properly (rather than doing just the usual tourist stuff), to learn languages, get to know some lovely hosts, and also of course not wreck your budget. Google them if you're not already heard of them - I really recommend them.
Am thinking of doing a Europe trip myself though luckily have quite a few friends and family dotted around various countries which is quite handy!
