I've also heard of these people https://thebikeproject.co.uk/mission/ I was considering giving a bike to them a while ago, but in the end I repurposed it as a turbo bike. I've never actually had any contact with them.

"We take secondhand bikes, fix them up and donate them to refugees and people seeking asylum in London and Birmingham."

They are in Camberwell and Deptford in London, and Balsall Heath in Birmingham.
