Is the bloke (can't recall his name) thought he was Italian and kept saying "fam" all the time still about? Now that chap could post nonsense!

If he was called MF then no. Apparently he turned out to be a massive fantasist, although not quite in the same league as the other prolific liar (MM) .

Yes, MM posted on here for a while but quickly departed.

Yes, MathewFalle, had a better bike, car, house than everyone else, was hard as nails and had a liking for a slammed stem and a dislike for Hunt wheels. It's probably eight years since I left BR but unfortunately his drivel has stuck in my head!!

Aren't Hunt wheels one of those "marmite" things?

I know people who like them because of the noise the freehub makes. Personally, I would never buy one, precisely because of how noisy they are.

I saw them (Pardon the pun) as 'Look at me' wheels.

Sounds (Pardon the 2nd pun) as if they're actually listen to me wheels........

To me they are like unnecessarily noisy exhausts - a way of saying "look at me!" And if I'm freewheeling down Col de Rousset, all I want to hear is the sound of the wind in my ears and/or the swish of the tyres on silky smooth tarmac.

So many new members. Cant all be real. Or Cycling enthusiasts. I NEVER see so many actual real people outside on the roads.

At least half must be Chinese based BOTS......

That was my thought. Who let all the riff-raff in? You're all very welcome but we've a low standard of riff-raff to maintain here, otherwise people might start thinking we're sociable

I've got a pair of Veltec Speed wheels, plus another on as a front TT wheel. They're the same 'look at me' approach:

The only problem, in my case, is the speed isn't very quick.

Isn't it the choice of freehub rather than the wheels that makes the particularly loud noise? If you put an ordinary Shimano freehub on a whatever brand of wheel it'd be relatively quiet wouldn't it?

I don't know because I don't have a vast array of wheels and freehubs to experiment on.

His (fairly valid) point was that Hunt aren't a manufacturer and just buy a load of parts from the Far East, put them together, put some nice stickers on them and sell them at inflated prices due to all the money they spend on marketing.

He did however tend to massively exaggerate how much you can save by buying direct.

Bought a semi complete Colnago C60 with hunt wheels. Elected to remove the Schawalbr tyres and they were so tight on the rim, I thought that this would be impossible to remove on the roadside in the event of a puncture that I didn't want them nor the wheels. Had to cut the damn tyre bead. Sold on fleabay in an instant such is/was the demand.
