Since I am forced to pootle at the moment after an injury, I am really enjoying taking in the views rather than trying to go faster on a segment or whatever. Just what the doctor ordered.
I have done the local roads that much the only thing that gets me is when we get wonderful lighting, for example a few years back I did a ride not sure how far 50-60km or so, first part absolutely throw it down 2" an hr or so, but later in the ride I saw the most spectacular sunset I think I have ever seen, though I still had 8 fields on display on the garmin.

I like the computer for the fact that I can keep a general idea of my progress and such, but I'm not intent of the display. It serves as a subtle reminder of how I'm doing. I find I ride slower with just Strava, as I'm not really seeing a readout on my speed for most of the ride, just getting results when I'm finished. My Trek 600 came with an old Cateye Micro cycling computer with cadence. That's a good , but not obtrusive reminder.

Garmin Edge 20 here.

I look at the distance plus elapsed time - the latter as I often tell my wife roughly how long I'll be out and if it looks like I'll be out longer than expected I give her a call to stop her worrying.

Not interested in average speed and elevation whilst riding as they are what they are and I'm not into trying to set any speed records.

Garmin 810 owner: love stats.....speed, cadence, power, HR, ascent, the lot. Great if you are going for a PB or some targeted training. Ace for getting out of a pickle if lost. Wouldn't be without it.

@SpokeyDokey What I find interesting about the data I keep is why (aprt from fitness) my avg sp might be lower, and usually it the difference of 5+ft/mile extra climbing per 1/2mph or so, but at the end of the day its just a bit of fun, fitness shows up in two ways avg cad and avg/max HR, I did try tying that in with elevation/sp but I am not that clever. I do have a field showing effort but it really doesn't show any useful information.

A table I produced showing performance how accurate it is i have no idea
kJ: is worked out using [cals]*4.184, other fields are worked out from this.
If you look I did pretty much the same ride at the same time Fri and Last night (trip to my mates) I was quicker and a higher HR yet the Cals is less so therefore is everything else, so does that mean I am fitter.
