Hi Guys and girls,
Sorry if this has already been posted. Went out on the bike yesterday, and I noticed that when I changed gear (to the biggest of the front three gears), it only stays on for a while and after a few seconds pops back down to the middle gear. Any hints or references to online material which will show me how to sort this out.

Thank you.

You need to do front derailleur adjustment. It's easy enough, you have to move 2 little screws, if you look in youtube, there are lots of videos that explain how to.
If that does not solve the problem (it did not when it happened to me ) take the bike to the lbs, they'll fix it in 5 min. :hello:

Didn't manage to have look last night. But will hopefully over the weekend, but I am moving house Thursday (hopefully) so I may be a bit slow on the reply. Thank you.

don't know what bike you have, but there's probably an in-line barrel adjuster somewhere between the shifter and the first cable stop. Try a couple of turns out on the adjuster and see what happens...

Release the cable with the front mech on the smaller cog and then pull tight so there is some tension in the cable but not so tight that it moves the position of the mech. Then re-tighten and try the shift to the large cog.
