Well took derlivery of my first and new track pump today but still no tyres.

Got a Beto Track Pump Steel Barrel With Gauge for £11.90 inc Free P&P which i thought was a good bargin as could not afford much else. Tested it on my factory fit tyres this evening and pumped upto 70PSI as the max PSI on the tyres says 80PSI. Took for a test and good u can feel the road now

Yes, radiators and oven both work.

In summer hanging in the sun on the washing line for 1/2 hour works.

Its usually only the first fitting that's difficult, after that tyres go on and off quite easily.

Remember the days of sunshine when tyres lifted off plain rims?

Kabooom!

Well my tyres turned up. Problem is they was bent and folded during transet and a bit out of shape etc. Have stuck them in the heating cuboard for a bit to see if they get there round shape again. Will this be a problem does anyone know

They'll be fine. My M+ were folded when I got them. I left them to straighten out for a while. Stuck them in the oven for a few minutes before fitting - on the very lowest setting.

I'd read loads of horror stories about fitting them but it wasn't bad at all. Unless you're even more of a wimp  than I am you'll have no bother.

No it won't. Just unfold them, partially inflate the tube and have a go at putting them on. They'll definitely be round when they're on the rims! Learn by trying;)

Well i have done it after 1 hr of fitting them LOL. Front went on a treat with the orignal tube but the back was a nightmare to get the last bit on and with a new tube. I nearly dont have any finger tips left now LOL. pumped up and ready. Will see if the tubes hold the preasure overnight.

Well done chris, hopefully you won't need to re-fit them for a while, but if you do they get easier once they've been on a while.

Cheers,

I was not sure if i caught the tube on the rim on the back one but when the tyre was fitted the tube deflated a little i just had a look around the tyre and seemed ok

I struggled a bit when 1st putting my M+ on,used a tyre lever to get the last bit on but pinched the tube.Main thing I do now is once you think it's right just put a bit of air in and check it's seated correctly before pumping to full pressure.
My experience has been so good with them it's hard to justify using anything else on the hybrid.

It was two weeks ago I fitted Conti UltraGatorskin 26 x 1.125 on my new LR Tahora.

For a looksie, I've just popped the front wheel out, taken the tyre and tube off and replaced them.

NO problems.

I've got a Presta/Schrader adaptor. The site's Airhose goes to 85 psi and I hand pump to 95 - 100.

Well what can i say about today first ride to work and back on the M+

Can tell the tyres weight a little but i have noticed i dont feel the road so much as i did with my old std tyres. Got them upto 85PSI which is the max i think for the m+

They get easier second time round - which for me was about 5mins after fitting them 1st time when I must have had a pinch flat about 10yds down the road and the tube exploded.

I got a puncture the other day (first for a few hundred miles) and to be honest they came on and off without too much difficulty - if you kneel on the 1st point they go back in on refitting them I find that easiest and then work around the rim about 4 inches at a time using two tyre-leavers

Good luck.
