Not necessarily a recommendation but in summer I have one bottle with Vimto or a n other sugary squash & one bottle with an electrolyte tab in & for winter just one bottle with both in.

Do u use fructose?
Sometimes. It's only 1 molecule away from Glucose. To be Honest I wouldn't worry about Fructose. On a long ride I might have water in the bottles sometimes with an electrolyte tab in one. Then I use real food like banana/flapjacks for fuel & occasional energy gels.

not tried anything but water my self not sure how electrolytic tabs or whatever perform but my self i have always not been to keen on modern chemicals and rubbish in both food, drink and other non-food stuffs. traditional is the word i use
so my self i say a pinch of salt in either water or squash

I use pure water and food on a ride. Just remember to have many spare bottles as you never get the taste out of the bottle

The danger with pure water is in hot weather, without salt and electrolyte replacement, you can get into problems, popularly known as water intoxication. 50/50 flat coke and water is what was used back in the day. Gatorade is much better cut 50/50 as well.

PURE water? Weirdo
Well yeah, i'm new to cycling, but in all of my hiking, expeditions and other stuff i've done occasionally with army cadets i've only used the stuff once. And that was after 6 hours climbing pen y fan!

But i'd take the advice of these people! Just don't use tap water as it tastes really bad!
