I use washing up liquid and water as hot as I can stand it. The amount of salt in it is going to be that minimal that it isn't worth worrying about.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
Fenwicks FS1 concentrate £10 or less a litre. Dilute 10:1. Spray all over bike with hand spray bottle, leave 10 min, rinse off. Spray lightly all over with GT85. Done!

Washing Up liquid is fine. There's not enough salt in it to cause a problem if you rinse it properly. My bikes stand testament to the fact.
Once washed, dry and Mr Sheen.

All done and dusted.

If the bike is just dusty from a ride, then baby wipes do a great job, once again followed by Mr Sheen.

Personally would not put any degreaser near my bike unless I was planning to degrease it and then oil/grease everything again .

I use G101 made by Autosmart. It is essentially an all purpose cleaner that is used in car valeting which I do quite a bit of so it makes sense. VERY good stuff.

Holy s**t, all these posts about so many household cleaning products. My house does not get cleaned using them, so my bike sure as well won't. This Mr. Sheen has a lot to answer for, or is very rich...
