I would use John Lewis or Scan. Most retailers are OK until something goes wrong. Currys is consistently at the bottom of rankings when trying to solve problems, and have a slightly sketchy relationship with consumer law (mainly because they don't train their staff properly).
Having said that, I just got an email from John Lewis saying my latest order has been delayed for some unspecified reason...... Scan have always been reliable though....
Just to see what local had I popped into town. One independent local co didn't look that good, more repairs and networking I reckon. So I went to an old established business IT company. £599 for a ryzen 5 and i5 Asus with 16gb ram, 512 ssd. Think that's a bit high.
Curry's, another Asus, i5, 16gb ram 256ssd or 513ssd I can't remember. Their best deal in store at £170 off full price! £629!!!! Oh and then the upwelling, that most people take, extra warranty, m365 and mcaffee av, the best one available.
Why on earth do they do all that bs? It's not discounted but overpriced. Stop the upwelling, better to just say they sell software off needed ask about it instead of upselling. No wonder I always feel like they're trying to rip us off whenever we go there. They're the only place locally that actually sell certain types of things, like a monopoly in a physical store.
