So, as it's green hop season, I got a green hop red ale. And it comes out brown.

I found myself in the Stowmarket 'Spoons on Monday where, as a rule, all they seem to have as guest beers is Greene king IPA or Doom Bar so I stick to Brewdog. This time they has something called Ishii Orihime pale ale which despite the Japanese name was brewed specially for JDW in the UK according to the small print on the pump label. Edit - brewed by Banks's Brewery
Normally I'd have one or two pints of the cask stuff and then go back to Brewdog, but this stuff was so nice I had three - all at £!.79 per pint!

The autumn beer festival is on at the moment so they've got an even bigger selection of cask beers on than normal, including five from overseas brewers. I may have sampled a few over the past week 🍻.
The stand-out one this time for me is Yazoo brewery's All Dog Alert stout, although it's heavy duty so you'd not want to have many of them.
I've ticked twenty of the thirty available off since last Wednesday, halves or thirds I hasten to add, I'm not a complete inebriate.

Does exactly as it says on the tin, very nice but a little bit sweet to have more than one though.

And not really one that you should eat cheese and biscuits with.

Saw this in Tesco earlier, the normal Wingman is a bit watery but when I spied that this was 7.2% I wondered if it was a replacement for Jackhammer.

As soon as I poured it though the murkiness knocked that idea on the head.

It's got a flavour that I can't quite pin down, not really unpleasant but not one that I'll be buying again.

Imagine the scene. Customer enters local brewery emporium. Purchases case of brewery's Pale Ale. Friendly staffer suggests that if customer purchases another case, may be mixed, of any of brewery's products, customer may choose another 12 bottles, or cans, maybe mixed, of 3 specific brewery's products. FREE! Bargain, customer thinks. Any possible downside? Staffer says the free products are approaching their 'Best Before' dates. Customer takes a mixed case of:
H IPA & APA.JPG

Hepworth Sussex Premium Pale Ale abv 5.5% (RRP £2.40)
Hepworth Sussex American Pale Ale abv 5.0% (RRP £2.40)

Customer quite happy with the 'purchase', although struggling to finish them by yesterday - the oldest 'Best Before' date - should finish them tomorrow!
