Been a warm one

Temperature peaked at 24'C, I decided to ride up to the nursing home to visit my old mum, pretty much uphill all the way, talk about sweat. Luckily the ride home is steady enough, it was shorts, short sleeve summer jersey and no helmet, enjoyed it.

My trike computer was say it was 29c to 32c on my ride today and in the first time in my life I rode with no top on and a pair of skimpy shorts, I now have a nice suntan on my front.

Good innit?.glad you enjoyed it,I had a ride out,round some lovely quiet lanes,and the amazing thing was that I only saw 6 cyclists.Probably all in B&Q ,aiming for a DIY session or something similar!

was doing the lawn edging in my folk's back garden this afternoon... covered in sweat after half an hour. Was glad to get back on the bike for the breeze it gave me... and cruising past a two mile queue of very slow moving traffic going into Lancaster made me love my bike all the more.

I have to feel for the poor souls. Me? Looking after kids, never seems time for any riding at the weekends, so I totally get their pain.

The forecast today said that we would be drawing up warm air from the continent on a Southerly breeze.

I can assure you, from my 42 mile ride around North West Kent this morning, that said breeze is still very much from the north (the north east in fact).

I was warm enough, but my goodness it was unexpectedly hard work at times.

My ride this morning was a ride of two parts, the ride out was cool cloudy grey and windy, the sun came out whilst I was in the cafe and I shoved my long sleeve top in the saddle bag and rode home in warm sunshine. This evening its been lovely, I've checked and cleaned the bike and cleaned the car.

Saw a chap cycling up pellon lane last night around 6pm, he was wearing trousers, shirt and tie and had a laptop bag over his shoulder, he didn't look happy at all and given it was around 23'C I wouldn't have been happy either

I'm glad I have a job where I can wear what I like. Shorts and Tee shirt for nearly two weeks now.
