1963 was colder for longer than 1947.

Lots of 'panic' buying in Aldi yesterday... no milk, no bread, no fresh chicken, no mince, no frozen pizzas and lots of people going bananas because we don't have a dairy cow in the warehouse or a secret bread mountain reserved for our 'regulars'.

Not sure if it's the cold weather or fear of a new cold war after news of Putin's new toys.

Point them to the flour and yeast. I'm fairly sure there will be some of the complainers having snow days, so they'll have plenty of time to perfect their bread making skills.

A friend of mine is finally on his way home to Eire after being stuck in Glasgow for 5 days after getting off a ship.
