Okay, they should know best but it was my impression that the FSA BB is slightly different to the Shimano equivalent and that there could be fit/use issues.

Think FSA 86 is the same as shimano press-fit and all HT2 cranks should fit ok,its basically the same thing as press-fit 90 but instead of calling it fsa 90 they call it fsa 86 just to confuse everyone I think, its for 24/25 mm spindles and once you add the 2mm lip on each side to the 86mm shell then you get your 90mm just like the shimano version.

What im not sure on is if they both fit the same type of frames ?

I swear they all get together to confuse the mass cycling public!!

I thought their might be 2 or 3mm diff in BB width and a slight difference in spindle size, which might cause fitting issue. Might also promote lateral movement. Could be wrong though. There seems to be plenty of conflicting evidence out there so i will not put my neck on the block with this one.

Hopefully the OP will pop back and let us know if it fits hassle free..............

Yup! :cursing:

FWIW my mate has a Scott F01L with Shimano press fit BB and a DA cranks. However, my HTII DA cranks will not fit his bike and vice versa. I forget the exact reason but the two are apparently not compatible.

There may be an adapter of some type to facilitate this but it's not something I've had to look for so I don't know TBH.
It is, but to clarify, the FSA adapter, is an adapter made by FSA. It is not particularly a component that enables the use of FSA cranks and bottom brackets.
To the OP, this is spot on. I have the FSA adapter in my CAAD with DA HTII cranks fitted, but don't fit one in a carbon frame unless you plan to keep it that way.

Have decided to go for the Praxis. Ordered from Cyclingcomponents.co.uk and the item has now disappeared so they clearly had one in stock.

The Praxis link above also has a good video showing how to install. Pretty easy but i don't know if i should use my cheapo DIY method of hammer and bit of wood.

They do recommend a press you know.............
