Shouldn't you lot be PMing and keep your infernal love-in out of the sarnies?
Sorry, cheese and pickleShouldn't you lot be PMing and keep your infernal love-in out of the sarnies?
I love cheddar cheese and marmalade sandwiches. Don't knock it until you try it.I'm rather partial to cheese and jam sarnies. Everyone else I've encountered thinks its horrible.
Guinea pigs? Too good for this lot!I was thinking more guinea pigs for the food scientists going by this lots palettes
Interesting foodie...I'm starting to think about a career direction for the lad-hes only 8 - fulfills a few criteria; constant demand, etc whats your prognosis for 10 years time?... and to think there's a shortage of Food Technologists in this country .....
There will still be a desperate shortage.Interesting foodie...I'm starting to think about a career direction for the lad-hes only 8 - fulfills a few criteria; constant demand, etc whats your prognosis for 10 years time?
Cheers foodie-There will still be a desperate shortage.
It's not the best paid technical career per se, but it's full of opportunity and it's very diverse and hugely topical. Nutrition and dietetics will be growing too. I like my small part in it because I get a fascinating blend of chemistry, engineering, process technology and marketing with a lot of international travel/meeting people.
PM me if you want to know a bit more .... right now I have production trials in France to attend to! A tout a l'heure!Cheers foodie-
Yes Hmmmm
you may have planted a seed!....

Agreed. We'll have to import from Ireland, Netherlands, France, Spain .... and they have difficulty finding people too.And the UK education system isn't helping matters. Food Science A-levels are being abandoned apparently.

The applied sciences at degree level are poorly served by careers advisors who themselves are poorly prepared to give sound advice on a wide spectrum of degree courses.
