Hi

Has anyone used the Baleaf underwear under their cycling shorts?

I have been on 2 rides since getting my bike and my buttocks are sore. I know the nerve endings needs to harden up a bit but I had to get off the bike today as it was so painful. I;ve checked the seating position and its fine so I think its a case of getting used to it but I do not want to push through the pain and make it worse but I don't want to stop and have to start all over again........so I was thinking of getting some of these baleaf underwear to wear under my cycling shorts.

The other alternative is to buy some more expensive cycling shorts but I don;t want to do this if the Baleaf will do the job.

Anyone got any experience with them?

Thanks

Just to be clear, Bicycle shorts are designed to be worn against your skin. Try again without any underwear and see how you get on.

I only picked the bike up yesterday and they did a bike fit when I picked it up so its not that. The Baleaf underwear is specificaly designed for cycling but was hoping someone had experience with these before I bought some.

Chaffing is not the problem, it is brusing so I was thinking more padding would be better until my nerve endings toughen up.

Some people at work wear 2 pairs of cycling shorts for extra comfot so thought this would be an alternative.

Ok Cheers, I'll push through the pain and see what happens. I think I might invest in some decent shorts then in that case as the ons I picked up were BTWIN and only cost £7.

Do Halfords sell good ones? Or can you recommend any that won't break the bank i.e. mid-range?

Get better shorts. Go to a decent bike shop or buy online as halfords have a very narrow range

What's the budget? Dhb from wiggle good, or endura. Guys on here tend to favour bib shorts as they move less. Look at deals from Sigma sport, often have reductions on higher end kit. Free returns and delivery

Evans have lots, collect in store, try, return. And they price match many other retailers

Depends. I'm happy with foam. Gel chafed. Don't think you'd get old fashioned leather now

If new to riding, you need to get used to riding. Also check saddle flat initially

Never heard of them as a brand. Spend some more. Decathlon do different degrees of pads. £7 ones will be for popping to the shops, ie not really needed

Go to shops, try on, fondle the pad. Also make sure you have the right width saddle for your sit bones

Those Baleaf underwear shorts are designed to be worn underneath normal clothes - in other words, to be worn instead of cycling shorts, not as well as.

the basic btwin shorts are not much cop , i use to use them for commuting maybe half hour each way , any mr was pushing it .I now use wiggle essential shorts for commuting and i even used a pair on a 3 hour + ride as i grabbed a pair instead of the dearer dhb brand and i was comfy enough .
