http://www.wiggle.co.uk/dhb-classic-bib-shorts-1/. These sound alright from short rides to Gran Fondos!.
You get what you pay for with shorts.
depends on how much the OP wants to spend and if they want bibs, they do look nice though
I use the bib version myself but the non bib version for commuting

Ive got 3 pairs of Decathlon B'Twin bib shorts - the basic 300 ones are well, basic and only OK for short rides, but the 500 and 520 ones I've got are spot on and I've done 5hr plus rides in them without any problems.

Best of luck in your search.

Experiment and do what works for you. It may take time. Take note of other people's advice but also take a pinch of salt. You may need to experiment with a different saddle. You are your own expert in this area.

I sometimes wear a layer under cycling shorts for extra warmth in the winter and it makes no difference whatsoever comfort wise, whereas conventional wisdom is that this will lead to horrendous chafing. I also used to tour in cut-off jeans and my bum never fell off then.

As a world expert on sore buttocks I will add my bit
If I did 30 miles I couldnt get back on the bike for a week.
There are bike fits and bike fits e.g. I paid a lot for one but the problem persisted. Went to another dealer who changed virtually everything (without cost) and loaned me a saddle saying "that will sort it out".
I also upgraded my shorts to Endura Pro'sg
Sure enough....next day I did a 68 miler and another 15 next day.
I then bought the recommended saddle.
So.......a combination of all 3 did it for me.

When starting cycling again I found I had tenderness around the sit bones - bruising possibly.

Things toughened up after a few rides, even not taking padded shorts into account.

Sometimes now, if I have three weeks off the bike, say, the tenderness will return on the first ride but balance is soon restored !

It's a bit like playing a wind instrument.

Initially you won't be able to play for long before you get a wobbly lip & can't form the notes. With practice your lip muscles toughen up & you can play for longer. Your lip muscles soon go out of condition if you stop for any appreciable period. My lips are obviously too much like my bum. :stop::wacko::rolleyes:
