Watched this on DVD last night and absolutely loved it. What an extraordinary film. As with most viewers I suspect, I also fell madly in love with Tatou.

As a side note, the film incudes a lot of clips from TV and movies and there's one clip from the 1997 Criterium International where a horse joined the race for a couple of kilometres! You can see it here:

It's a fab film, isn't it..and she is utterly gorgeous, totally agree. You should see 'Dirty pretty things' and a totally briliant film called 'He loves me, he loves me not' which she's fab in!!

A Very Long Engagement is actually good too - though somewhat overlong and messy. My wife is the Japanese version of Amelie BTW...

I've also seen it but don't recall her being dressed in lycra. May I respectfully request the site administrator to remove this thread as being non-cycling related. I am appalled at the lack of seriousness displayed on this section wherein irrelevancies seem to be the norm, rather than the accidental exception.

Um, I think you forgot the smiley there!

Audrey Tatou is cute in Amélie (I thought it an excellent flim btw) but hardly fanciable.... imho of course. But then I think she looks quite ordinary, dowdy almost, in other films I've seen her in.

Ohhhh.... I love Amelie; charming, magical and then there's Audrey (swoon).

Having spent many a childhood holiday in the Charente, I also enjoy the mickey-taking of her colleague's Charentais accent ! (Try and get 'Tati Danielle' to see the same woman when she was much younger and hotter too.)

I own a copy of a Russian film called 'Mars' which is in a very similar style to Amelie. Saw it at the Ed Film Festival a number of years back, and later wrote to the Russian film company asking if there were any plans to release it in the UK. As there weren't, they next-day-couriered me over a free DVD of the film !

I've put Amelie on the shelf alongside my other favourites, Jean de Florette & Manon des Sources, Fargo and Apocalypse Now.

Wish I could find a video on Youtube of Helene Mahieu doing that hip wiggle in the original Size Mattters ad. She was wearing a figure-hugging tweed skirt and she sashayed towards the camera in a very sexy way.

I have no problems in admitting its one of my favourites. It is pure Parisian fantasy, but its freshness and charm, its humour (which you also see in Delicatessen, by some of the same team) and yes, an absolutely perfect Audrey Tatou, is lovely.

I like Tatie Danielle a lot too... haven't seen it for a while though - and Mars looks like it is worth tracking down.

Ah... Jean de Florette & Manon des Sources are wonderful, wonderful films.

Ah, Jean de Frogette and Manon de Saucy...French lessons were certainly livened up by these gallic gems. It never struck us at the time that the thick Provencal accents used in the film would make the language and teaching value of them moot but our teacher certainly seemed to be enlivened by the 'dancing naked' scene.

There's no doubt Amelie is attractive but I reckon Marian Cotillard is more attractiver but who is the most atractivest of them both? There's only one way to find out.
