All am saying is if that guy was like that his whole life he would by now have a serious criminal record,he has no criminal record so somethings telling me he is not as bad as we are painting him.
Or hes not been caught before. What happens behind closed doors.....

No this means that he hasn't yet been prosecuted,

I think if he reacts in that manner to having a horn sounded at him, then he certainly has issues that need addressed before he does assault someone.
But if I were the cyclist, unless he is prepared to stand his ground then he needs to ditch the horn. So tired of seeing cyclists with cameras and horns, who when confronted by motorists run away. Have the balls to get off your bike and stand your ground, none of this nambi pambi using your bike as a shield. If your going to blare your horn, wave your hands about and shout, then be prepared for confrontation. I'm not advocating 'getting the first punch in' but I would be certainly defending myself and not running away.

What stopped you in your confrontation? Whatever it was is down to social conditioning. Knowing where the line is drawn.
Many people know where the line is drawn, but don't care about stepping over it because they know that nothing will happen.
To be honest, this guy has brought it on his self.
If you stand on the town hall steps showing your arse, people are going to notice.

What stopped me and him i think was as soon as he got out his car after seeing the red mist we both realised what a pair of tits we were!

He had his say which I ignored then I had my say which he ignored.

All because I undertook him at a set of traffic lights(in the cycle lane). lights were red and cars were stationary and he took exception and overtook me dangerously around the corner when I was actually being slowed by traffic and was in middle of road , me in turn acted like a tit and overtook him on outside and pulled in infront of him.

Both in the wrong and as they say up here a couple of fannies!

I have to disagree this individual physically assaulted the op, tailgated him down the road almost doors him which would most likely have seriously injured the poor chap. This guy should have been prosecuted, what kind of message does this send to other unstable bully boys sat behind the wheel of a vehicle having a "bad day".

Remember not everyone's a geordie here. If it happened in scotland it would have ended with one of them dead

I just watched this video of a road rage assault on a Birmingham cyclist. It left me shocked by the level of aggression by the van driver and even more shocked to find out the driver was not prosecuted but told to write a letter of apology.

What are your thoughts

He probably cannot even write or even string a coherent sentence together as he is a knuckle dragging thug.

The cyclist should have lumped him back or hit him very hard with his D-lock.

This thug was cautioned as he likely admitted offences and had no previous. End of any action. What were the offences? Shocked he hasn't been prosecuted but then we are dealing with the incompetence of the fuzz and the CPS. If any court saw this he would hopefully get a much more severe punishment than a caution. A caution is a TOTAL joke for this behaviour.

What's the moron's name? Name and shame.

Which shows you are both sensible guys who got a bit caught up in the situation.
This guy took it one step further, he crossed the line and in my opinion, a 'telling off' when he wilfully tried to injure and maybe kill (with the dooring) another human being, is not good enough.

I think he should of been prosecuted aswell, but not persecuted!

Dan, I don't advocate violence. But then again I don't like angry little men like the driver in the clip. So many of then are all mouth. I have mentioned in another thread about previously being involved in a road rage incident, the guy in that case was so tough when threatening a car full of females but he soon shut up and disappeared when confronted by me. I don't know what it is but I can't just stand by and let these people get away with it.

Yes but we both had a moment of rage and it needed the two of us to come to our senses.

What's the guy's name? See if we can get this video to come up in Google top of the first page when his name or the company name is typed. Might be worth trying to find out who insures the vehicle then making a claim. An insurer might withdraw cover if they saw such dangerous driving and violent conduct.

I dont think we need to discuss the police punishment anymore. I think that the way this has just blown out of proportions is going to haunt the guy for a long time. It is also affecting the passenger/wife that appears to run the business.
The internet seems to have a more prolific affect on people than the actual police.
