WP 2 Siclo 1 is the current score, something I intend to square up in the near future, the last time I knew at the bottom that having the brickworks, Mellor Road and Snake Pass in my legs already was going to doom me. Trouble is its lumpy to get there, the shortest route is the brickworks and then Cowlane lane out of Combs and that's nearly as brutal as WP.

Good luck bringing it level.

We only had 20-ish miles in our legs, having cycled from Sheffield, but the bumps and wind meant they were hard miles.

You mean Cowlow Lane, and yes, it is another really tough one. Its steepest bit is actually steeper than Winnats but thankfully not as long. The whole area around Chapel en le Frith and Whaley Bridge is full of really hard climbs. My personal view is that the hardest of all is Pyms Chair

I've got into a habit of stopping for a rest half way up big hills. I know I don't have to - I only do this when riding alone, if I'm with someone else (especially someone faster) I keep going. Perhaps if I had a bit more sense of "shame" I would get to the top a bit sooner.

Yes Cowlow Lane, apologies for the typo, agree about Pyms Chair, particulary if you've been daft enough to come down the corkscrew.

Good man! Making us sweat on this play-off place aren't they? Great to be watching some (mostly) dynamic, progressive togger again after all these years of dross though.

I pushed my bike up half of Box Hill last year! It was seriously embarrassing but I had no idea what I was getting myself into on a 'short ride' with some new work collegues.

Ended up being out for around 8 hours and covering over 120km... Longest ride I'd ever done was around 25k before this.

My legs were in agony and kept cramping up. I had no food, gels and only one bottle of water. Completely out my depth!

A playoff place is almost nailed on now that Cardiff and Ipswich keep tripping up as well.
I don't think they can win promotion though ( yet to beat another to 6 team )
But I agree its good to see them playing so well after 20 years of utter dross.
