You just need to say you're coming and turn upon the day. There are only 3 rules:

1. Any bike will do
2. Nobody gets left behind.
3. There will be cake

Arran is amazing, have gone round in both directions and through the middle several times, difficult to get bored with it!
(But the other islands are brilliant, too, each in their own way )

As Mike said, there are no formal joining procedures, @DavidD, just come along! Of course you'll be even more welcome if you bring some cake along ...

It is . Admittedly I've only been over it once, from the west, after eating the most enormous and wonderful breakfast at the Lochside B&B in Blackwaterfoot - which from memory seems to be the easier way through 'the middle'... even though it didn't feel like it at the time, we were sooo stuffed .
