Are you a...dare I say it, cycling tart ?

I went through an all black phase.

Bike with black everything. Black longs. Black cycling jacket. I quickly got bored of it.

It's function over form and my other half says my legs will look good in anything! :smile:

You decide.

I bought a blue and white helmet to match my Scotland/saltire top. I have a black bike with yellow bar tape and yellow Conti GP4000s. I also have the Continetal race kit which is all black and yellow. I even use conti inner tubes, these have yellow valves!

Like I said you decide!

Seems perfectly reasonable to me :smile: - I did exactly the same with my old Yello/Black Giant frame. Now I have a red/white/black frame it's a definite case of 'All change'. :smile:

Blue and white helmet? Black and yellow bike and kit? You're starting to sound like Lance on a training ride! No yellow Hudz?

I have one top that has so many strips on it in different colours, that it looks like a demented thunder storm;
...
I originally got it because I had hoped that being so bright and busy the cars might give me a wider berth; but, it seems to work the other way round, cars pass closer. Could be they want a better look or perhaps it works like the old dazzle camouflage they put on battleships and the drivers can’t see me? :smile:

I read something that said drivers tend to notice large blocks of colour more than busy patterns (but can't find the link to the paper at the mo - think it was called "Being Big on a Bike" or "Giving the impression of Bigness" or something like).

Thus a plain red, blue or yellow top will draw a drivers attention more than a bright but striped top. They'll tune out the fine detail and in so doing unconciously half-ignore you. (At least that was the theory)

Do you shave/wax your legs in summer?

No, but I would if I weren't so lazy. Does that make me a lazy hairy tart?

Yuck, you're definitely not a tart!

I must admit shaving is a bit of a pain, but now I get mine waxed at the salon down the road. Much better!
