Are you a...dare I say it, cycling tart ?

I had to stop and think about this, but have to confess, am probably a bit of a tart. Dont go for matching the bike with my clothing, but have reached the point where I look better on the bike than in "normal" clothes, thanks to my pink and black get up.
I know it sounds disgusting, but as I ride in lots of places I technically shouldn't (just private woodland, shortcuts etc,not doing any damage) being a "girlie-girl" seems to let me get away with stuff that blokes on bikes just cant. Male cycling friends have been challenged for doing exactly what I do by the same big blokes in landy's who just smile and wave at me. Deeply unfair, but such is life...
Maybe they should try my howies pink hat and pink windproof jacket.

Hi Kitty, I was hoping to take some colour co-ordination tips from you guys but I think I'll pass on the pink and black, leave those colours to the footballers, mind you wifey keeps telling me to get in touch with my feminine side, maybe this is what I need ! so thats it pink and black Lycra with a flowery hat to boot.

Virtually everything I ever wear on the bike clashes terribly, but who cares!!!!

Same here; when the Cyclechat top arrives, that will be further clothing that can clash nicely with what I’ve already got.

I have one top that has so many strips on it in different colours, that it looks like a demented thunder storm; I wore it to the Salisbury century one year and the compere extracted the urine out of it all the time I was at the start and also when I was walking around after finishing.

I originally got it because I had hoped that being so bright and busy the cars might give me a wider berth; but, it seems to work the other way round, cars pass closer. Could be they want a better look or perhaps it works like the old dazzle camouflage they put on battleships and the drivers can’t see me? ;)

I have a Dauphine Libere KOM jersey (very tasteful) but I have never dared to wear it yet (outside the bedroom). If you saw me go up hills you would understand why

I didn't think I was a tart (I don't own a single piece of cycling clothing, yet) until today when I came back from the supermarket with some car shampoo for my bike. Oy veh.

I ALWAYS us4 car shampoo on the bike (expensive ones) and can often be found using good quality car wax to polish it with afterwards too

Was wondering about the wax actually but couldn't make up my mind as it was £6 for a bottle of the Turtle stuff. Does it 'set' hard enough that it won't rub off on my clothes when I hoist the bike on my shoulder?

I'm such a tart that come spring I get my legs waxed, even though I don't cycle race.

OK, it's mostly for the looks, but also to save on roadrash healing time, and sports massages. That's all skating really.
