Are TL tyres impossible to buy now?!?!

Just been looking for tyres for an impending new bike day, and I can't seem to find anything that fits the bill!

Admittedly, I want to go a little bling and get tan wall this time so I may be pushing my luck a bit!

Previously I've just gone and found the cheapest 28mm Conti GP tubeless options, chucked £40-50 per tyre at them and been done with it. But now I seem to be seeing sold out on every website.

Any options people can see? happy to pay a bit more for Conti GP 5000, but not really keen on spending big bucks on some of the tires out there that can't really hold their own under test.

necessary stats:
Tubeless
circa 28mm
Good puncture resistance - I'll be doing a lot of long distance solo rides
Decent rolling resistance
Preferably tan wall... but I don't want an awful tyre just to get tan wall!
Fair price!

Try IRC Formula Pro, either RBCC or X-Guard, from The Cycle Clinic. All of your criteria bar the tan sidewalls.

I'm using Pirelli Cinturato Velo 28mm which tick a few boxes. Tubeless, supposedly good puncture resistance. I've had none in a few thousand km.

Rolling resistance - not a clue.

Sidewall is tan if you ride through enough cowshit.

I'm happy with them. Early-ish days. I've been using them for about 9 months or so

Sigma have a fair few, a couple with tan wall but they are more race options. Tan wall seems to be more on gravel bike tyres so you’ll need a new bike if you don’t have the clearance for >28mm

Goodyear Eagle F1 Tubeless Complete.

Available in a range of sizes including 700cx28, and in both back and tan wall versions, for around £50.

I struggled to find tan wall tubeless tyres in a 28mm width. In the end I opted for Bontrager R3 TLR in 32mm with tan wall, very comfortable, but wider than you were looking for. Sigma have the 28c variant in stock at their warehouse apparently, although not available in tan wall in that size.

They aren't classic cotton wall tyres though there is a tan coloured rubber coating around the edges so you don't get that classic cotton look, a function of the needs of a tubeless system.

I don't think the GP5000 TL has ever been available in tan in the 28mm width. They did have them in 25mm.

Ahh but tan tyres even with a rubber coating are lighter than there black counter parts. I recall Francis Cade and the Back Yard bike shop did some weighing of different brands and sizes and it’s was consistent.

I was always a fan of Mavic tyres but I appreciate a lot of people aren't.

Translucent is the only other option in 28mm TL for GP5k, almost tan

I have Schwalbe Addix with transparent wall, which looks like tan to me so translucent/transparent will probably fit the bill too Can see anywhere with mine in stock in 28s though Lordgun have 25s
