Are 23mm wheels suitable for every day commuting ?

Hi Cycle chatters

Looking to buy a Cube Peloton Race, which i believe is equipped with 23mm wheels. My concern is
that these will prove to be too "fragile" to cope with every day commuting on our poor roads (12 mile ) round trip.

Cheers

If you have a road only commute then they'll be fine, just avoid the potholes best you can.
Fit some decent puncture protected tyres too

I run 23s, got some Continental Ultra Race ones on at the moment, done about 1500-2000 miles on these tires so far, no punctures wheels still round. Roads around here aren't great, and I make sure to avoid bad surfaces but they're fine.

23s here too. Depending on how heavy you are, I'd suggest the number of spokes in the wheel are more important than the thickness of the tyre. I run 32/36h front and rear to cope with year round commuting.

23's running at 95 ish PSI have been working out well for me for the last 490 miles. The pressure needed will be listed on your tires side wall - I'd personally pump it up to near the upper level to prevent pinch flats.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
I have run 23 mm through 2 winters and i find them no worse than running any other tyre, unless you have got spiked tyres for ice .

Using conti gator hardshell with 110 psi front and back
