More seriously. Check the guest list demographic. Look at age in particular and then explain to your DJ he should play music to suit those age groups. Keep in mind those in their 30s/40s will be familiar with all the great music that will get someone of my age, 70, up on the dance floor.

On a more serious note, paying off part of the mortgage with the cost of the wedding is always a better option IMHO. Or in these modern times, giving the kids a deposit for their first house instead of a wedding makes for a more positive option. Then have a house warming / painting party with close family when they get in!! I am nothing if not practical. Non-married couples are more likely to last out I read somewhere.
